Description

Travel notebook cm 11x20. Hand woven travel book with texture qualities that are designed to be evoke the surface pattern (fruit skin texture) of apple Golden Delicius quality. Through a careful study of textile design and manual productionof the eight shafts loom. These are finely woven with linen, viscosa and cotton, hemp, and naturl dyes. The natural apple connection is also found in its coloration, wich derives from natural dye sources, rendering yellow tones from the cortex of apple trees. Quality paper: Munken.

PAMPHILE di Giulia Ciuoli è un laboratorio dedicato alla progettazione e produzione tessile con telai manuali, improntate sulla sostenibilità ambientale e sociale, legate al territorio toscano-italiano, tramite l’impiego di risorse autoctone (lane sarda, zerasca, garfagnina, sopravissana, gentile di Puglia; canapa, lino, seta) e l’attenzione alla cultura tessile tradizionale. Si occupa della progettazione e produzione per la linea interna a marchio registrato Pamphile®, come anche di progettazione e campionatura, per aziende tessili del territorio toscano. Il nome Pamphile rimanda alla divinità greca figlia di Platea, vissuta nell’isola di Coo, che, secondo Aristotele (Historia animalium, sec. V a.C.) e Plinio il Vecchio (Naturalis historia, sec. 23-79 d.C.), ha il merito di avere scoperto ed insegnato a filare e tessere la seta selvaggia.
